Kennel Philosophy

I am not, and do not aspire to be, a professional breeder. I am a lover of the Épagneul Breton as both a hunting dog and a companion. As such, I strive to produce dogs that fulfill both roles equally well. I will not compromise by breeding field trial champions at the expense of creating a dog that will not also be a family pet. I will not breed dogs that are champions in the show ring but will not produce birds in the field.

Stud Service

Stud service is available to bitches two years of age or older who meet the following guidelines:

1. • Hips:  PennHIP rating of 50% or higher or an OFA rating of Good or Excellent
   
   

2. • Natural Hunting Ability:  All bitches will be required to have achieved one of the following rates: UKC TAN; NAVHDA TAN; AKC Junior Hunter.  If your bitch has not earned one of the above ratings, I would be happy to see her work in the field prior to providing service.
   
   

3. • Conformation: To ensure that the breed standard for conformation is upheld and the Épagneul Breton continues to improve, I reserve the right to refuse stud service to any bitch that has not been confirmed Excellent or Very Good and that I feel does not fulfill the physical requirements as described in the breed standard.
